Assemblymember Garcia Urges Increase in After School Funding

(SACRAMENTO, CA.) – Assemblymember Eduardo Garcia formally submitted a request to Senate and Assembly leadership today to increase the State’s After School Education and Safety Program (ASES) funding by $54 million in 2015/2016 and raise the daily rate from $7.50 per student to $8.50 per student.

Imperial Valley Natives Honored by Assemblymember Garcia & CA. Latino Legislative Caucus

(SACRAMENTO, CA) – Assemblymember Eduardo Garcia joined the California Latino Legislative Caucus in honoring two distinguished Imperial Valley natives at this year’s 2015 Latino Spirit Awards. The Latino Spirit Awards were established in 2002 at the State Capitol in Sacramento to coincide the state’s acknowledgement of Cinco de Mayo and to highlight positive role models in our community.

Assembly Approves Garcia’s Coachella Valley Conservancy Bill

(SACRAMENTO, CA) – The California Assembly approved a bill (AB 1089) today authored by Assemblymember Eduardo Garcia (D-Coachella), which would expand the Coachella Valley Mountain Conservancy governing board and territory, to include the Cities of Indio and Coachella.
