Legislation to Reduce Air and Carbon Pollution Passes Committee(Sacramento) - Assemblymember Eduardo Garcia’s (D-Coachella) legislative proposals to reduce air and carbon pollution received a boost when Governor Jerry Brown joined him to testify in favor

(Sacramento) - Assemblymember Eduardo Garcia’s (D-Coachella) legislative proposals to reduce air and carbon pollution received a boost when Governor Jerry Brown joined him to testify in favor of his Assembly Bill 398 (and Assembly Bill 617, authored by Assemblywoman Cristina Garcia D-Bell Gardens) at the Senate Environmental Quality Committee. Together AB 398 and AB 617 propose a statewide climate action plan and program to meet our emission reduction mandate, ensure economic prosperity and address critical health and air quality concerns. Assemblymember Garcia told the Committee, “These measures seek to establish a comprehensive, statewide program to keep us on track to achieve our climate goals; all while retaining industry jobs, ensuring equity, addressing vital issues of air quality and public health issues in disadvantaged communities severely impacted by pollution.”  Here’s more in this Assembly Access video.
