Assemblymember Eduardo Garcia Discusses Passage of Workforce Innovation Bill At Strong Workforce Town Hall

(INDIAN WELLS, CA.) – Assemblymember Eduardo Garcia discussed the recent passage of his California Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (AB 1270) at the College of the Desert’s California Community College Task Force Strong Workforce Town Hall meeting on May 8, 2015.

”Providing our workforce with the proper skills and credentials that match employers needs in order to fuel our economy is a major priority for me,” stated Assemblyman Garcia, Chairperson of the Committee on Jobs, Economic Development and the Economy. “Today’s town hall showed us how our community college system can meet our regional workforce needs.”

The California Community College Task Force on Workforce was commissioned by the California Community Colleges Board of Governors and is comprised of knowledgeable leaders from across the community college system, the business community, labor, public agencies involved in workforce training, community based organizations, K-12 educators, and other groups.
