Asm. Garcia Recognizes Women During “Latina Action Day” - Sacramento

(SACRAMENTO, CA.) – Assemblymember Eduardo Garcia recently met with representatives from Hispanas Organized for Political Equality (HOPE) during Latina Action Day in Sacramento. During their visit Assemblymember Garcia spoke about his latest policy efforts and his support for the California Legislative Women’s Caucus Women’s Economic Security agenda that affects Latinas in California.

“As a member of the Select Committee on the Status of Girls and Women of Color, I’m excited to be part of the continuing statewide conversation to help build the necessary infrastructure for our young Latinas to be leaders in their own right,” said Garcia. “I look forward to furthering the discussion and working with HOPE and other local women’s organizations on securing economic opportunities for all women in California.”

Hispanas Organized for Political Equality (HOPE) was founded in 1989 by a dynamic and politically influential group of Latinas representing the full spectrum of business, political, and social tenets. Once a year, HOPE convenes 400 Latina leaders from all regions of California in Sacramento for an annual public policy issues conference called “Latina Action Day in Sacramento.” This one day conference is designed to facilitate dialogue between community Latina leaders and elected officials on public policy in California.
