Chair of Assembly Committee on Water, Parks and Wildlife urges infrastructure improvements
(SACRAMENTO, CA) – Today, Governor Brown announced a four-point plan to bolster dam safety and flood protection.
Assemblymember Eduardo Garcia (D-Coachella) has issued the following response:
“The Governor’s response is a good first step to provide immediate relief to our flood-damaged communities and roads. Other areas throughout the state potentially stand to face a crisis like that of Oroville. Substantial strides must be taken to improve our infrastructure in communities dealing with flooding and levees and grounds that have become saturated after many years of drought,” said Assemblymember Garcia, Chair of the Assembly Committee on Water, Parks and Wildlife. “We look forward to working with the Administration on their plans to enhance dam safety in our state and solicit federal support for our flood and dam safety programs.”
