Assemblymember Garcia Celebrates Women Leaders of Imperial County

2017 Distinguished Women Reception and Award Ceremony

(El Centro, CA) Friday evening, State Assemblymember Eduardo Garcia hosted his annual reception to honor “Distinguished Women” from Imperial County. In celebration of Women’s History Month, the Assemblymember selected six outstanding women leaders to recognize from within the community. 

“In celebration of Women’s History month, I was pleased to recognize the outstanding achievements of local women. This year’s ‘Distinguished Women’ honorees exemplify extraordinary vision and leadership in a variety of fields and professions; from business development, education, health and women empowerment. This reception was my small gesture of appreciation for their daily efforts to help make our community a better place,” stated Assemblymember Eduardo Garcia.

Honorees were joined by family and friends for a private reception at the Fairfield Inn and Suites by Marriot, Business Center in El Centro. Assemblymember Garcia presented them with flower bouquets, certificates of recognition and lapel pins bearing the California State Assembly Seal.

Betty Predmore and Stacie Chandler, Founders of Women of Virtue Empowerment Network (WOVEN)

Assemblymember Eduardo Garcia (D-Coachella) serves as the chairperson of the Assembly Committee on Water, Parks and Wildlife.  He represents the 56th district, which comprises the cities and communities of Blythe, Brawley, Bermuda Dunes, Calexico, Calipatria, Cathedral City, Coachella, Desert Hot Springs, El Centro, Holtville, Imperial, Indio, Mecca, Oasis, North Shore, Salton Sea, Thermal, Thousand Palms, and Westmorland.
