(CALEXICO, CA) Next week, a new state COVID-19 testing site will open in the City of Calexico. This is the second state testing site to be approved for the Imperial Valley. Assemblymember Eduardo Garcia (D-Coachella) commends the County of Imperial and other local leaders who made this possible in partnership with the State of California. He highly encourages community members to utilize available local resources to be tested.
“I am grateful for our collective Imperial Valley leadership and especially the County for their dedicated and rapid response to the emerging concerns in our region. Being tested is a critical component of our community’s recovery process and our ability to curb the spread of COVID-19. I highly encourage everyone to do their part by being tested as well as continuing to practice personal safety measures,” stated Assemblymember Garcia.
The new site is scheduled to open on Monday, June 1, at the Calexico Community Center located at 707 Dool Ave, Calexico, CA 92231. All testing will be scheduled by appointment only. The facility will be operating Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. with a closed 1 p.m. lunch break.
