(SACRAMENTO, CA) As Coachella Valley community members continue to mourn the loss of Father Francisco Valdovinos, Assemblymember Eduardo Garcia (D-Coachella) rose to adjourn the Wednesday, January 27, Assembly session in his honor.
“With great sadness, I rose to present an Adjournment in Memory honoring Father Francisco Valdovinos of Our Lady of Guadalupe, Catholic Church in Mecca. He worked tirelessly to serve our Eastern Coachella Valley community. Father Valdovinos lived every single day with a strong dedication to his faith and the people he served. He was a fearless advocate for the poor. When this pandemic struck he did not hesitate to respond. He mobilized and acted without fear for his own safety. His only concern was protecting the health and wellbeing of our families. Father Valdovinos’ memory and mission will live forever in our hearts,” said Assemblymember Eduardo Garcia.
