(El Centro, CA) — On Saturday, August 26, Assemblymember Eduardo Garcia (D-Coachella) held a local celebration honoring Best S.T.E.P Forward as Nonprofit of the Year for the 36th Assembly District.
“We proudly congratulate Best S.T.E.P Forward as our Nonprofit of the Year. This organization fills a great need for inclusive activities and programs in our community. Best S.T.E.P Forward creates a supportive and vibrant space for youth to explore their talents and connect with others,” said Assemblymember Eduardo Garcia. “We appreciated this opportunity to meet with parents and children who utilize Best S.T.E.P Forward’s services while honoring their mission.”
Best S.T.E.P Forward, a nonprofit serving the Imperial Valley area, is dedicated to providing an inclusive, neurodiverse environment where children with disabilities can learn and thrive. S.T.E.P stands for Sports, Theatre, Expression, and Perseverance. The organization hosts various events for families and youth throughout the year that incorporate sports and artistic expression.
This past June, Assemblymember Garcia presented an award to the nonprofit’s CEO, Jacqueline Riddell, during a ceremony held in Sacramento. This local event allowed community members and families served by the organization to celebrate the award and recognize the nonprofit’s significant contributions to Imperial Valley.
