(Sacramento) - Assembly Bill 1127, authored by Majority Leader Calderon and Assemblymember Eduardo Garcia, would require baby diaper changing stations be installed in men’s and women’s restrooms in restaurants, department stores and other frequently visited public buildings and businesses in California. “As an expectant father, I want to ensure that our state’s public health polices adapt to support the evolving needs of all Californians and their families,” said Majority Leader Calderon. “AB 1127 will ensure that both moms and dads have a safe, sanitary place to change their baby.” AB 1127 is similar to a federal law signed by President Obama requiring that male and female restrooms in public federal buildings be equipped with baby changing facilities.
