(Sacramento, CA) —On Wednesday, April 26, Assemblymember Eduardo Garcia (D-Coachella) welcomed student activists, parents, and mental health professionals to the State Capitol for a rally calling for increased access to mental health resources at schools. Advocates organized by Aspire Public Schools gathered in support of Garcia’s AB 1479, school mental health legislation, which successfully passed the Assembly Committee on Education later that afternoon.

This binational summit, organized by the University of California Alianza MX, provided an opportunity for California, United States, and Mexican government officials to exchange research and identify strategic solutions to achieve a sustainable, economically robust, climate-resilient future for our communities.
