(SACRAMENTO) Six bills authored by Assemblymember Eduardo Garcia (D- Coachella) passed the Senate Appropriation Committee Suspense File. The bills now head to the Senate Floor for approval. Topping his bill list are three local measures:

(SACRAMENTO) On Wednesday, August 10, 2016, the California Joint Legislative Audit Committee approved an audit of the state SAFE-BIDCO Program. The audit was requested by Assembly Member Eduardo Garcia (D-Coachella).

Established over 35 years ago and having provided more than 1,000 loans, SAFE-BIDCO now requires additional program capital.

SACRAMENTO - The Assembly Committee on Jobs, Economic Development, and the Economy (JEDE), chaired by Assembly Member Eduardo Garcia (D-Coachella), is continuing its programmatic review of the Governor's Office of Business and Economic Development (GO-Biz).

(SACRAMENTO) – This week, three bills authored by Assemblymember Eduardo Garcia passed the Senate Environmental Quality Committee. Said committee has jurisdiction over bills related to water quality, cap-and-trade, and the environment.

(SACRAMENTO) – Indio resident Ralph Duarte was honored today by Assemblymember Eduardo Garcia as the 56th Assembly District’s 2016 Veteran of the Year. The Operation Iraqi Freedom veteran traveled to Sacramento with his wife to attend the veteran’s recognition luncheon which was held at the Sacramento Convention Center.

(SACRAMENTO) – Assemblymember Eduardo Garcia reports that AB 2444, earned strong support in the Senate Natural Resources Committee and Senate Governance Finance Committee, passing on a vote of 6-2, and 4-1, respectively.

Imperial Valley Food Bank was selected by Assemblymember Garcia for its exceptional work fighting hunger in the 56th Assembly District. The Imperial Valley Food Bank will join other nonprofit leaders from across the state being honored at this inaugural event.

(SACRAMENTO) - Assemblymember Eduardo Garcia announces his bill, the California Water, Climate, and Coastal Protection and Outdoor Access for All Act of 2016, AB 2444, passed the Assembly Floor, garnering bi-partisan support with a vote of 56-18.

"It has been 14 years since California last approved a "true park bond," said Assemblymember Garcia.
